100 Summits: Bulgers in a Season
is a documentary film that follows 20-year-old Andrew Okerlund as he attempts to climb all of Washington State’s 100 highest mountains during his college summer break.
Ross’ Roles
Ross served as the cinematographer for much of the project, acting as Andrew’s primary climbing partner and summiting 42 of the peaks together. In post-production, Ross led visual aspects, including color correction and grading, animations/vfx, titles, and credit sequences. He directed several interviews, shot additional B-roll, and assisted with general editing and sound mastering. For still imagery and design, Ross captured many photographs of Andrew and designed the posters and graphics used in the film's promotions.
Before publishing the film on YouTube, 100 Summits: Bulgers in a Season was shown in theaters in four cities—Seattle, Portland, Camas, and San Luis Obispo—nearly selling out all seats.
